Since 2007, PantiBar on Capel Street has been the heartbeat of Dublin's LGBTQ+ community — a place where queens rule, drag reigns, and every stranger becomes a friend by last call. Born from the vision of Rory O'Neill (Panti Bliss), Ireland's most iconic queen, the bar became a cultural landmark long before it became famous. Through protests, pride marches, marriage equality campaigns, and countless unforgettable nights, PantiBar has stood as a beacon of joy, resistance, and belonging. More than a bar — it's a home.

Known to the World as Panti Bliss.
Born in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Rory O'Neill grew up in a rural Ireland where being yourself was often a quiet and private act of courage. He spent his twenties in Tokyo, where he discovered performance, found a version of himself that felt entirely true, and brought that freedom back across the world to Dublin.
In 2007, he opened PantiBar on Capel Street. What was designed as a bar quickly became something far greater — a living room for the community, a stage for the unheard, and a room where people could finally exhale. Completely.
Then came February 2014. After legal threats silenced public discussion of homophobia on national television, Panti stood on the stage of the Abbey Theatre and delivered what became known as the Noble Call — one of the most viewed and most shared speeches in modern Irish history, seen by millions worldwide.
A year later, Ireland voted Yes to Marriage Equality — the first country in the world to do so by popular vote. Panti was at the heart of the campaign. PantiBar became the unofficial celebration hall of an entire nation.
